This property is a hidden gem!! Everything about it was just luxurious!! I was hesitant to see its location was next to a train station but we never heard it (or saw it) and we had views looking out over it. Love the free Matcha/coffee station and at different times of the day they will have different freebies for you to try. Eg. Ice cream, yakult, juices, teas. The private onsens are magnificent! Make sure you spend the time checking them all out, we didn’t make it to the public ones. The whole resort has tatami flooring so no shoes while walking between room/restaurant/onsen etc. you’re instantly immersed into Japanese culture. Next you can hire a Yukata to wear around the resort (and outside if you dare) so you also look the part. Pack lightly, unless you’re venturing outside you won’t need much clothing.

Loved our stay here. The room whilst small was lovely. We made lots of visits to the onsen, I think it was great they were private onsens with a queue system. Perhaps one of the baths was a little on the unclean side, but they certainly seem to clean them daily and it didn't bother us too much. Generally the onsen was great, with lots of different styles, and nice to have some that were open-air. lovely option for free ice creams as well, a nice touch. We would have made use of the late night free ramen too but it wasn't clear where to go for this. But overall a lovely stay. It's just opposite the train station so incredibly convenient and staff were incredibly helpful especially with help forwarding our luggage to the next hotel. We loved that the whole hotel was mainly tatami mat flooring and that you had to take off your shoes at reception. The traditional japanese breakfast was also brilliant, so many seasonal dishes, very filling! I would wholeheartedly recommend the Sagano romantic train and Hozugawa boat trip, and Takara sushi just down the road (5 seat sushi restaurant run by the loveliest couple, who were very nice, excellent hospitality, and delicious food. They were very complimentary of our limited japanese). It's also a good place to stay for people heading to the bamboo grove, and convenient so you can go at less busy times. We also enjoyed a trip to Saihoji temple about 30-40 minutes walk away, as well as Otagi nenbutsu-ji temple to the North.

Location is great especially if you want to hit bamboo forest early morning, it’s a short 25 mins walk from the hotel, facilities from hotel are good, the bed is pretty comfy, plus you got the experience of traditional ryokan. Check out the yukata rental however I don’t think they have enough for everyone so it can be sold out in late afternoon. We tried 3 out of 5 of the private onsen, it was fun enjoyable experience and then enjoy the free ice cream + ramen + hot drinks afterwards. Also what an experience on the kaiseki dinner.

It’s at a very quiet location, but also very near the train station so getting in and out of the area was easy. Walking distance to the Arashiyama bamboo grove. Close to cafes and restaurants. The resort has private onsen baths with different themes. I only managed to try 2 of the themes during my stay but got a peek of the others and they all looked great! They also have a public onsen but I didn’t get to try that. The private baths are great for those who have tattoos cos you’re not allowed to use public onsens if you’re inked. They also have a lot of free stuff such as free ice cream, yakult, hot and cold beverages, ramen for supper, rental of yukatas.. we were very happy with our stay there!

Incredible customer service, calm and serene environment and great facilities without ever getting too crowded. Best part was the private onsens we could make use of as part of our stay. Loved being able to roam around the resort in our jinbei, yukata and socks provided by the hotel. Unlimited ice cream lollies and refreshment plus late night ramen was a real treat. We stayed here for our honeymoon and were gifted a small present upon check in which was incredibly thoughtful and sweet. Easy to get to and conveniently located right next to Togetsu Bridge in Arashiyama but quiet enough at night to feel like you've escaped.

This is a superb place to stay after walking around the very busy area of Arashiyama. It is a quiet spot with superb facilities and a choice of two train stations (one right next to it and another 10 minutes walk away. The private baths were part of the initial attraction but to be honest, I liked the public bath better as there was a bar of scrub salts, sauna, and other facilities in addition to the traditional onsen facilities. There are free drinks and all the toiletries needed to enjoy the experience. I made a mistake in my booking and was worried I would have to book a different hotel, however the staff was very helpful and accommodate this eventuality. We did not try the restaurant as the area offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and snacks.

Walking distance to star attractions in Arashiyama such as the Bamboo Forest and Togetsukyo Bridge. The resort was a traditional ryokan with modern comforts and amenities, set just away enough to be peaceful and quiet at night. It was clean and comfortable, and we especially enjoyed the onsens - there was an indoor and outdoor onsen, as well as private baths available. Drinks, ice cream and even ramen are available for free. The traditional Japanese breakfast was quite an experience as well. We were there over Christmas and they had small seasonal activities and treats in the lobby.

This is a traditional and beautiful hotel. We were upgraded to a larger room with an outdoor tub on our 2nd night which was exceptionally nice. The staff were wonderful and the onsen was fantastic. We had dinner in the bar on the first night which was very zen and i loved going to dinner in my yukata after the onsen.

The onsen is amazing. 5 private baths and a public bathing area with plenty of space. The free yukatas were very comfortable and the staff was very kind and helpful. The staff who don't speak English have a translator app that works quite well. You can reserve massages for extra cost that are perfect after wandering around Kyoto. The location is also great. The Arashiyama bamboo forest is about a 10 min walk from the hotel. The train station is a 1 min walk from the enterance and takes about 15-20 mins to get to central Kyoto.
